A clear central interface
The main screen organizes recent chats, stories and navigation in one clean view. More whitespace and simple icon language help the interface feel calmer without losing the familiar WhatsApp behavior.
A cleaner, more focused communication experience.
WhatsApp is one of the most used communication apps, but at the time of this concept it had received only limited visual updates. The goal was to give WhatsApp a visual facelift, reduce the interface to its core communication functions and make chats, stories and calls easier to access.
Styleguide
The redesign keeps a clean UI language and uses a WhatsApp-inspired green and blue gradient as the main accent. The system covers typography, primary colors, system colors, icons and light and dark interface states.
Visual Design
A new central interface makes chats the focus of the product while keeping status updates and the most important actions close at hand. The screen is lighter, easier to scan and reduced to the functions people use every day.
The main screen organizes recent chats, stories and navigation in one clean view. More whitespace and simple icon language help the interface feel calmer without losing the familiar WhatsApp behavior.
The chat flow keeps the conversation in focus. A cleaner layout, clearer message input and easier access to stories/status make it feel simple to continue a conversation or react to a friend’s update.
Stories become more visible and easier to respond to. Quick responses support lightweight interaction and help status updates start conversations between friends.
Calling is treated as a core communication action. Voice and video calls are easier to reach, and the incoming call flow includes simple actions to decline or send a message when answering is not possible.
The same redesign language extends into dark mode. The interface keeps the green accent, simple navigation and clean screen structure while shifting the presentation into a darker visual style.
Concept Summary
This redesign explores how a cleaner visual language, simplified navigation and stronger content hierarchy could modernize WhatsApp while preserving the familiarity that millions of users already know.
